About

Brain-inspired hardware, from device to system

I'm a Ph.D. candidate in Materials Science & Engineering at Seoul National University (advised by Prof. Sangbum Kim) and a doctoral researcher at the Post-Silicon Semiconductor Institute, KIST. I build brain-inspired hardware — engineering Ovonic Threshold Switches, memristors, and chalcogenide devices into energy-efficient neuromorphic circuits that compute the way biological neurons and dendrites do.

My work spans the full stack: from device fabrication and electrical characterization to circuit design and system-level demonstrations such as dendritic Boolean logic, Hopfield networks, Ising machines, and sensory neurons. My recent demonstration of dendritic computing was featured on the cover of Nano Letters (2026). I'm currently seeking post-doctoral opportunities starting in early 2027.

Artificial Neural Logic Operators for Energy-Efficient Dendritic Computing

Inspired by how biological dendrites process signals, we implemented full Boolean logic (AND, OR, XOR, NAND, NOR) directly in Ovonic Threshold Switch devices — performing computation within the device physics itself, with dramatically lower energy than conventional CMOS logic.
